| Who are DigiPoll's clients? |

| Why Telephone Interviewing? | It's
the fastest method of public polling. You can gauge opinion quickly! Unlike personal interviewing, it is inexpensive, discreet and covers a wide geographic area. Unlike mail surveys, it is faster, does not depend on manual data transfer and is less expensive overall. |

| Why Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI)? | Through a modem, the computer performs automatic dialing, using computer-generated random telephone numbers. Via automated skip patterns, the computer takes the interviewer only to questions which are relevant to the current respondent. Questions cannot be missed; an invalid data entry is immediately rejected; cost and errors produced by a separate, manual data-entry step are eliminated because data is entered directly into the computer during the interview. CATI is most efficient when the interview is short to medium length, and the sample size is large. CATI is also valuable when complex branching (multilevel hierarchical set of questions) is used. | |||
| Why us? | Save yourself Sisyphean tasks: manual work, delays, repetition, data entry errors, respondent refusals - the integrated technology which we are using is the most advanced and user-friendly system in Australasia. This cutting-edge technology allows us to respond to client demand within a few days. The speed helps reduce costs and the bias effect of intervening factors and other disruptions which emerge over a longer time. Our lab offers state of the art acoustic and ergonomic conditions, which produce the best performance from our interviewers. The interviewers, who are trained and monitored, work in a pleasant atmosphere so that data are not lost or spoiled due to fatigue, impatience, or hearing difficulties; and the questionnaire software allows record-time performance. | |||
| What
about the Cost? |
The integrated technology results in major cost cutting. The interviewing process is highly automated in: random number generation, auto-dialing, recalling, skip patterns, and compilation of data. The total cost of a project will depend on the length of the interview, accessibility of the sample, desired sample size, and whether analysis of results is required. | |||
| What about the future? | Our
software is constantly improving. We employ a quota procedure which controls
the number of calls to predetermined demographic or geographic categories.
We are working to ensure that the popularity of mobile phones does not inhibit
our survey accuracy. The software also allows for the application of digitized
voice - a politician's speech, an ad or a music tone, for example. An elaborate automatic callback procedure keeps track of respondents who are frequently not at home. Finally - our randomization technique helps us to effectively access the general population as well as newcomers to the district and unlisted telephone users. |
